  • Initiative aims to train students in Embedded Systems, IoT and Deep Learning
  • The two year program will begin in January 2018

Trivandrum, November 22, 2017 – Quest Global, a pioneer in providing global engineering solutions, has launched a Quest Innovation Centre (QIC) at College of Engineering Trivandrum (CET). This initiative will provide training to students in cutting-edge engineering technology streams including IoT, deep learning and embedded systems and will help in bridging the technology gap between academia and industry. The training program at the QIC will commence in mid-January.

The initiative, launched at CET, will serve as a platform for students to interact with subject matter experts in the engineering services industry and enhance their knowledge. The two year program will be open to students in the fifth semester at College of Engineering Trivandrum and they can choose their streams for which they will receive course materials including class room and online trainings, and mentoring from industry veterans. Initially, students of Electronics & Communication, Computer Science, Electrical and Applied Electronics branches at CET will be eligible to enroll for this initiative.

S Narayanan, Vice President & Centre Head of Quest Global, Trivandrum, said the QIC is launched at CET in continuation to the organizational charter of Quest Global to support the academia in the state and make students future-ready. “This initiative is a demonstration of our commitment to the academia in the state to build a pool of brilliant engineering talent. As part of this training program, students will get an opportunity to work on some of the projects we do at Quest Global and upon successful completion, we will offer a letter of intent for employment to potential students in the areas of Automotive, Hi-Tech and Medical Devices. This program is a pilot project and based on its success, we will be rolling out this initiative to other engineering colleges in the state in a phased manner.”

Dr. J. David, Principal, CET said “Engineering education in India has reached the most crucial turning point where it has to meet the industry requirements to face the dynamic demands of the competitive domestic and global markets. Steps need to be taken to bridge the gap between industry expectations and what the curriculum offers. The partnership of Quest Global and CET will provide our students an opportunity to get one step close to the industry and enhance their employability.”
